If you're an Overwatch fan, it will come as zero surprise to you that these two are just furry Moicy (for those unaware, Moicy is the ship name for the pairing of Mercy and Moira in Overwatch). These furry versions came about as I generally struggle to draw human faces, and have not yet forced myself to try harder... So. Furry cat Moicy was born.

As I continued to draw them, the pair turned into more of an AU (Alternate Universe) than anything else; I had headcanons as to why they got together, how they experience attraction to each other in their own ways, and reasons why "Mercy" doesn't have wings in some scenarios (mostly to give me excuses not to always draw them). I even wrote-in one of my top wants for an in-game skin... Werewolf Moira. And so, over time, these two moved farther and farther away from their Overwatch origin.

The biggest departure though, came when I joined a Pokemon group on Toyhouse, where you can give your Pokemon traits that alter their base appearance. I'd made several fan Pokemon prior to these two that represented other pop culture characters, so really it was only a matter of time. For Mercy, I went with Mareep, for that soft, light, and fluffy appearance. And for Moira, I chose Lycanroc, for that elegant but intimidating personality, and the previously mentioned werewolf themes. This is also when I changed their names to Valkyrie and Atrophy, respectively.
